We have just moved the first seeds from the heating mat to the grow lights and I love your soil blocking system. Your system makes it possible to even entertain my grand children because they can watch the seeds grow before their eyes!
Not only will we have greater success germinating seeds, and healthier plants, it will save so much space too. We are in the midst of designing a house we plan to build on our farm and I now believe I can cut my potting room size in half – and I have thrown away all those small pots too!
I have a question, is there one green sand that is better than another out there. Im already looking on Amazon for more so I can make my own seed soil. it looks like the slightly best deal is Soil Mender Texas Green Sand at retail. Can it be purchased at wholesale as i get more and more into it? I have a sales tax # and wholesale gift business.
Oh I thought you would like to know how I found you because I always want to know how people find me. I saw a segment on the Alabama Co-Op Farmer Show about you and immediately went to your website. I am thrilled to find you! If you are ever in Alabama or Georgia or for that matter Mississippi, I want to meet you.
I loved your book Cool Flowers. Starting my cut flowers business is exciting and I appreciated your knowledge in the book. Please add me to newsletter.
I want to first thank you so much for the wonderful info at your workshops I attended at the Mother Earth news conference in ASHEVILLE. Your info and products are awesome! I just started My first soil blocks and I think it gets to cold in my garage even though they are on the heating mat should I cover them with a lightweight sheet of plastic?
Jessica, you are right it is to cold in your garage if it is not heated. The heat mat has a builtin thermostat that heats the mat to 15-20 degrees warmer than the surrounding room temperature. If the garage is cool, it can’t warm enough and the room is just to cold to encourage plant growth. I would suggest moving to a warmer location to get them going and perhaps move back to garage as it warms up. I would not cover. Hope this helps.

If it is Greenland it should be fine. It is also available wholesale on most areas.

Enjoyed your session at the Baton Rouge conference recently! I’ll have lots of questions when we really begin our business.
