Fall Planting Rewards

No better way to spend the Saturday before Christmas than messing around in the garden. I pulled back the floating row covers to take a peak at my fall planted seeds and plants and they are going gangbusters! But so where the baby weeds, so I grabbed my gloves, hoe, and a tub and headed out to spend a relaxing afternoon of tiding-up the garden.

I can’t tell you what gardening bliss it is to have all those baby plants out there just waiting for their sign from the weather to get ready for spring. The snapdragon plants I planted are really looking good and the stand of Sublime Larkspur is the best I have had for a couple of years. The sweet pea vines are thick!

I could stay out there for days cuddling these plants! Knowing that for the rest of the winter they are ready and waiting to perform for me- no fussing required, but always appreciated.
